The Acid House

I recommend The Acid House by Irvine Welsh. Its a book of mostly short stories and much like A Clockwork Orange, you pick up the language after a couple chapters- "Kenn" = "Know", "Bearn" = "Baby", etc, etc. This is, by the way, the author of Trainspotting. If you don't have time to read it, rent the movie, because he wrote the screenplay for it and it's got three of the short stories in it.
